Atiku beats Tinubu, Obi in Akwa Ibom
The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has beaten his closest rivals in the competition. He won the south-south state, Akwa Ibom.
Mr. Atiku win in 23 local government areas of the state. He polled 214,012 votes in the state. Akwa Ibom is a traditional ally of the main opposition party in the country.
Bola Tinubu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress scored 160,620 to trail behind the PDP’s candidate, Atiku.
The Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi scored 132,683 votes in the keenly contested election. He came third behind the first two candidates.
