The ex vice president started his own litigation against Bola Tinubu, All Progressives Congress and the Independent National Electoral Commission after Labour Party’s Peter Obi had initiated a suit.
Atiku also claimed that he won the presidential election and he made attempts to convince the court. He told the tribunal that President Bola Tinubu forged his certificate. He went on to ask a court in the United States to talk about certificate Tinubu obtained from the Chicago State University.
The school affirmed that Tinubu did attend the school and graduated with Honours. The presidential election petition tribunal therefore struck out the argument for lacking merit.
The former vice president also argued on dual citizenship. The court found this particular argument as frivolous and poor. It struck it out. Atiku himself had faced a litigation on his citizenship in the past.
This would be the second time in a row that Atiku would be in court. He dragged immediate past president Muhammadu Buhari to court over the 2019 presidential election. He argued that he was the winner of the poll.
