The APC chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, has called an emergency meeting of the governors of the party. The meeting becomes necessary as opposition continues to rise within the party against the president, Muhammadu Buhari.
Barely one week to the general elections, the All Progressives Congress is falling apart with dissenting opinions and orders rising against the orders of the President. The APC chairman wants to stop the tide before it consumes the party.
The president has refused to listen to calls from within his party over the redesigning of the naira notes. Muhammadu Buhari has said that the old 500 and 1000 notes remain banned. He believes that would help to curb vote buying and selling.
The decision has caused a massive protests even in the state being controlled by the All Progressives Congress. Mr. Dapo Abiodun, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Mr. Nasir El-Rufai, Mr. Umar Ganduje are APC governors who are talking tough and giving counter orders to the people.
The APC chairman must have noticed this ugly development, hence, he summons the governors of the party to the meeting. Mr. Nasir El-Rufai has become far more vociferous with his comment more critical and derogatory of the president.
He even specifically said that the presidency has some cabals and saboteurs who really want the APC to lose the presidential election. Mr. Umar Ganduje said the same thing with his echo that Buhari wants to cripple the party.
