It is a piece of good news for Chelsea Football Club as former player, John Terry returns to the club four years after his retirement from the big London club. He has reunited with his old club.
Shortly his retirement from Chelsea, John Terry took up a role as assistant coach at Aston Villa. He was there for a while and now he has been welcomed back on board at Chelsea.
On Wednesday, Terry took to his verified Twitter account to reveal his return to Chelsea, a club that he helped to build to success.
He said, “I’m delighted to announce that I’m coming home, and have taken up a consultancy role @ChelseaFC academy. As well as delivering on-field coaching sessions, I will be involved in coaching discussions and mentoring our academy players.”
He will be leading the Chelsea academy players. He will also be mentoring the players, according to the statement he released. The club has also confirmed the development.
Terry played 717 games as a professional for Chelsea and he was the captain in at least 500 games. The club has released a statement to welcome him.
Part of the statement reads, “We are delighted to be welcoming John back to Cobham in a role that will involve coaching and mentoring the next generation of young players in our Academy.”
