The Ukrainian Risks of Fighting Russia

0

There are lots of Ukrainian risks of fighting Russia. The two neighbors have stoked tensions in recent times and they have moved closer to the edge of full blown battle.

A look at the head to head of the two countries shows the overwhelming power and strength that Russia has over Ukraine. An average Ukrainian knows it is risky to fight Russia.

Tensions began to further build up between them when Kremlin annexed Crimea in 2014. Despite all condemnations and sanctions from the United States of America and the European Union, Russia has continued to control Crimea.

In term of weaponry, Russia is more equipped than Ukraine. The difference is so wide that Ukraine can’t afford to take on the former Soviet Union Russia.

Ukraine has just 98 fighter jets or aircraft as compared to 1,511 owned and managed by Russia. Russia owns 544 attack helicopters, whereas Ukraine has less than 10% of that number.

Ukraine can claim of 209,000 active and 900,000 reserve military personnel. These figures are so lower than Russia’s. Russia has 2 million reserve and 900 thousand active personnel.

The more democratic Ukraine can look up to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). But the treaty won’t want to go to a full war with the Russian forces.

30,122 armoured vehicles belong to Russia. It is interesting to note that Ukraine can’t boast of a half of this particular figure. Then, it is becoming far clearer that Ukraine is really behind Russia.

8.8% of Ukrainian budget goes into military. Russia is more committed to its own military. Hence, it commits 11.4 percent to the military.

Ukrainian risk fighting Russia to a large extent. Russia had tried its strength in tje past. And going to war against superior Russia carries risks and it will be more devasting.
