Tinubu has misled millions of Nigerians over his claim that their Permanent Voter’s Card has expired.
The presidential aspirant made a shocking pronouncement that has compelled the Independent National Electoral Commission to react immediately.
Tinubu claimed that the PVC, which is required during electioneering period, has expired. This particular remark has generated so many reactions including from the INEC.
Tinubu claimed wrongly, “In case they do not announce to you on time, the PVC you have has expired.”
He asked his supporters to take their family members to knock at all doors and ensure that they follow the registration exercise.
He advised, “Take one family member, two family members, knock on all doors and make sure that the new registration”.
He emphatically argued once again that INEC wouldn’t announce it that the PVCs have expired.
Tinubu should know that it is criminal to have more than one Permanent Voter’s Card. The INEC frowns at this practice. Hence, he has misled Nigerians perhaps because of his ambition.
Prof. Bolade Eyinla, the Chief Technical Adviser to Yakubu Mahmoud, said the information was incorrect. The special adviser said Tinubu’s statement can make voters have multiple registration.
