The Super Eagles of Nigeria have tremendously improved from their performance against the Pharaoh of Egypt. They have worked on certain things and the effects could be seen.
The Nigerian side actually dominated the match against the Pharaohs of Egypt. However, they couldn’t score more than one goal in that encounter.
The Ghanian international, Asamoah Gyan, even said that the Super Eagles were unlucky not to score more than one goal against Egypt. That was not true.
Chances were created when the opened their competition last Tuesday. But only one was utilized compared to today.
The attacks are now more precise and superb when compared to the performance against Egypt.
Meanwhile, Taiwo Awoniyi, the main Nigerian striker in the squad was able to score today. Apart from stopping the central attackers of Sudan, he was able to add to the score sheet.
And that is another improvement. Nigeria needs to have a striker who can deliver when mostly needed. Odion Ighalo and Victor Oshimen aren’t available. Now Awoniyi is performing.
Goals from Chukwueze, Awoniyi and Simon lifted Nigeria to the knockout stage of the 33rd African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The defence of the team remains as solid as it was against Egypt.
