Osun PDP’s ticket: Babayemi, Adeleke, 4 others know fate in 48 hours

The People’s Democratic Party screening committee led by Mohammed Adoke has said that aspirants would know their fate in the next forty eight hours. The exercise was done today.

Mr. Adoke, a former minister of justice and attorney general revealed that the screening committee would turn in its reports to the National Working Committee within 48 hours after the exercise.

The PDP would soon choose a candidate for the 2022 gubernatorial election. The party hopes to take over from the All Progressives Congress this year. Six aspirants participated in the screening exercise today.

The 2018 gubernatorial candidate, Ademola Adeleke, Mr. Akin Ogunbiyi, hie opponent in the PDP primary participated. Others were Dotun Babayemi, Mr. Emmanuel Olusanya (Omirin), Fatai Akinbade and Mr. Dele Adeleke.

The screening committee chairman, Adoke, said, “I can assure you that we shall turn in our report by the next 48hrs. Six of them turned in for the screening and we screened all of them and we are satisfied with the answers they gave us.”

Shortly after the screening, Mr Dotun Babayemi, who was the ADP candidate in the last Osun west senatorial district election, expressed his optimism. He was sure of victory in the poll.

Likewise, Mr. Akin Ogunbiyi commended the screening committee and he also was hopeful of being the candidate of the party. He lost to Mr. Ademola Adeleke in the last struggle.

Meanwhile, Mr. Adoke told journalists that there were petitions written against some of the aspirants. The committee asked them to answer the petition for clarification.
