A number of Nigerian governors have paid a visit to President Bola Tinubu at his Bourdillon residence in Ikoyi, Lagos. The president flew from Abuja to Lagos to enjoy his holiday. He has since been hosting top echelons of the country. And yesterday the governors were at his residence.
He was happy to receive the visiting governors and told them that everyone had to work harder to grow more and make sure they the Nigerian currency improves.
“We have to work harder, grow more, and ensure the situation of our currency improves. Nigeria will see prosperity, but it requires consistent effort from all of us.”
In a statement on the official page of the president, Tinubu said he emphasized the importance of collaboration.
“This was my message to the leaders and representatives of the Nigeria Governors Forum this afternoon in Lagos. I also emphasised the importance of collaboration and encouraged our governors to take pride in their efforts while recognising the progress made across the states.”
“The states of the Federation play a critical role in driving Nigeria’s prosperity and development. The agricultural value chain, for instance, hinges on the contributions of the States. With ownership of the land, States hold the key to achieving food security.
“Since our administration took office, the improvements in revenue allocations have empowered our federating states even more. I urged them to strategically invest these resources into further development at the grassroots to meet the aspirations of all Nigerians.”
