The Nigeria Army (NA) has denied that its personnel were involved in the guard of honour given to the son of President Bola Tinubu, Seyi in Ogun State. In a viral video seen by Online Parrot News, Seyi Tinubu received the guard of honour while attending an event in the southwestern state.
There have been comments and arguments over the guard of honour given to him with several saying that it was ridiculous.
The spokesperson for the army Major General Tukur Gusau said that personnel were not officers of the army and that the badge didn’t belong to the force.
“They are not our personnel. We don’t dress that way. We don’t have this type of badge of rank. We don’t know them,” Gusau told The PUNCH.
Alhaji Abubakar Atiku had earlier condemned the video saying that it was irritating. *It is with utter dismay and concern that Nigerians were subjected to a nauseating video circulating online, where a group of young men, armed and in full military procession, bestowed upon the President’s son unwarranted military honours,” the statement read.
