Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has held a strategic meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Lagos. Tinubu had travelled to Lagos for Christmas and New Year holiday. He was warmly welcomed by Sanwo-Olu.
Tinubu himself led Lagos State from 1999 to 2007 and he has since been determining the next governor of the commercial hub of Nigeria.
Sanwo-Olu posted on his Facebook page that he led a team to the Bourdillon residence of the president. He explains that the president and his team discussed issues facing the All Progressives Congress and proferred solutions to them.
Lagos State deputy governor Obafemi Hamzat was in the meeting. Babajide Sanwo-Olu would complete his second and final term in 2027. Rumours are going round that a former governor Akinwunmi Ambode would return to complete his tenure.
The fallout between Ambode and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu stopped him from having a second term. But Online Parrot News learned that he would be asked to return to power by the power brokers including the president.
He said, “As we transition into the new year, today, I led a team from our dear State for a very strategic meeting with our leader and President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“During our meeting, we discussed the pressing issues facing our party and explored innovative solutions aimed at enhancing the welfare of the citizens.
“As we go into 2025, I am dedicated to implementing strategies that will foster significant progress and create a brighter future for our people.”
