Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has announced that President Bola Tinubu is calling for anarchy with his tax reform, which Mohammed said would cause hardship for the northern region. He has joined the likes of Babagana Zulum, Ali Ndume and several others to condemn the tax reform which the administration of Tinubu is pushing in the National Assembly.
Tinubu said that the bills and reform are necessary for the overall interest of the country. He added that the bills would not be withdrawn despite the northern opposition to the idea.
But the Bauchi State Governor gave his own view when he received some Christian leadsrs at the Government House in Bauchi. He said that the policy is not good for northern Nigeria. He explained that the region would not be able to pay salaries and construct roads.
“It is not a good policy for northern Nigeria because we are not going to get money to pay your salaries or to do roads.”
Mohammed argued that the administration of Tinubu must listen or else anarchy would take over. He didn’t explain what or how anarchy would come by.
“They must listen; otherwise, they are calling for anarchy. And that is not good.
“We voted for the presidency in this state and other states; they must listen to us. They must not come up with policies that favour only one section of the country or even one state in the country.
“It is not about religion; it is not about tribe; it is about national unity; it is about national hegemony, and this is what we are all about: good leadership,” he said.
