The immediate past Senate President Ahmad Lawan has paid a visit to the immediate past president Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State as he prepares for the next general elections. His visit to top leaders in the All Progressives Congress continues on the Christmas day.
Mr. Lawan had visited the last national chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Adamu in Keffi, Nassarawa State. He didn’t disclose the purpose of the visit, but he made it clear that he discussed a wide range of issues with the former Nassarawa State Governor, Adamu.
Both Adamu and Buhari gave their support to Lawan for the ticket of the All Progressives Congress, which President Bola Tinubu won in the primary election. Buhari didn’t announce his anointed candidate thinking he would be able to manouvre.
On Wednesday Mr. Lawan shared photos of the visit. He said that Buhari was a “true elder statesman who left enduring legacies from serving Nigeria after his eight-year stint as leader of Africa’s most populous nation between May, 2015 and May, 2023.”
The former number three citizens of Nigeria added that he was there to convey his warm greetings, and that Buhari and he “discussed a wide range of issues and I conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from my constituents and family to him and his family.”
