The group that canvases for vice president Yemi Osinbajo has expressed more optimism over the actualisation of Osinbajo’s presidency. Till this moment, Yemi Osinbajo has not told Nigerians that he wants to rule the country, Nigeria.
And at the same time, the vice president, who is also a professor of law and pastor, has tried as much as possible to keep mum and watch how things are unfolding in the political realm. President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration ends in 2023.
Mr. Yemi Osinbajo has a group working on his rumoured ambition as he is seen as a possible successor of Buhari. The Progressive Project (TPP), the group working for Osinbajo, believes that the endorsements the vice president is getting would help.
It will be recalled that the former military president, Mr. Ibrahim Babangida, didn’t mince words when he threw his weight behind Osinbajo for the presidency. The former head of state was specific and categorical in his appraisal and endorsement for the incumbent vice president.
Apart from that, the emir of Daura showered encomium on the gentle vice president. Osinbajo was in the president Muhammadu Buhari’s hometown for the coronation of Yusuf Buhari as Talban of Daura.
The Progressive Project now sees the actualisation of the Osinbajo’s presidency as much brighter on the subtle and categorical approval of the vice president.
According to Vanguard Newspaper, the director general of TPP, Usman A. Usman, some governors of the APC is inclined to the presidential bid of Mr Yemi Osinbajo. He mentioned Nassarawa State governor, Abdullahi Sule, as among the governors.
Groups that are working for Osinbajo include Progressive Consolidation Group (PCG), Businessmen for Osinbajo (BFO), Osinbajo GrassRoot Organisation, (OGO), Progressive Women for Osinbajo (PWO) South-West Movement for Osinbajo (SOWEMOVE) and the Progressive Elders Group (PEG).
