Ondo Guber Poll Is Best, Most Peaceful So Far – APC Chieftain
A top chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and gubernatorial aspirant Olusola Oke has commended the peaceful conduct of the ongoing gubernatorial election in the state. He contested for the ticket of the party, but lost to Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who is completing the tenure of the Late Rotimi Akeredolu.
Mr. Oke, a perpetual aspirant, cast his vote at his Ilowo Unit 6, Olori Alufa, Ugbo Ward 3, Ilaje Local Government Area of the state. He said that the Ondo State voters were orderly in the unit and they showed enthusiasm.
“The election in my unit has been orderly; people came out very well, and they are showing enthusiasm.”
Speaking while commenting on the poll, the APC chieftain said, “This is the best election we have ever had in terms of being peaceful and orderly. Even though I am in the riverine area here, I have the opportunity of linking up with other areas. The same peace you see here is what is obtained in places I have information on, and the people are very enthusiastic because they know that the incoming government will make a difference.”
Our corespondents observed that though there was peace and tranquility across the state, vote buying was rampant. Some voters were offered as low as N3,000 in Okitipupa Local Government Area while the offer was a bit higher in the state capital Akure.
