Wike Openly Threatens To Burn Gov. Bala Mohammed’s Hand over Rivers’ Matters
The Federal Capital Territory minister Nyesom Wike has openly threatened the incumbent Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed over the lingering power tussle in Rivers State, which Wike led for eight years between 2015 and 2023.
There have been issues between Wike and his successor in office Simi Fubara and the Peoples Democratic Party governors have decided to assist Fubara by giving him the structure of the political party in the state. They wanted to curb what they consider excesses of Wike.
But the decision of the party and its governors has not gone down well with Wike, who was in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital today. He was talking to PDP members and his loyalists when he threatened Bala Mohammed, who heads the forum for the PDP’s governors.
Wike said that he pitied the governors and that he will put fire in their states.
“I pity those governors because I will put fire in their states. When God has given you peace, you say you don’t want peace – anything you see you take.
“Because I heard they got some money from a signature bonus, and so their heads are getting big that you will put a hand in my own state. Prepare because I have the capacity to also do the same thing in your own state.”
He thereafter mentioned his issue with Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed.
“Whether you are from Bauchi, I don’t give a damn, whichever state you are from, as far as I know, that you are trying to put yourself in Rivers State, your hand will get burnt, and you will never sleep in your state.”
