Rivers State Records 2 Cases of Deadly
Rivers State has recorded two cases of deadly monkeypox (Mpox) disease. The state commissioner for health, Dr. Adaeze Oreh confirmed this in a press conference in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
She revealed that the state has placed its public health emergency operations center on high alert so as to address further emergencies.
“Recently, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control confirmed 39 cases of Mpox nationwide, with Rivers State accounting for two of those cases.
“We have dispatched our medical teams to handle all emergencies across healthcare facilities, including general and specialist hospitals,” she said.
