PDP Crisis Deepens as Court Upturns Ex Chairman’s Ban

The unresolved crisis rocking the major opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party has taken another dimension as Court of Appeal upturns a ban placed on a former national chairman Uche Secondus.

The PDP has already set up a committee to settle all internal wranglings and reconcile aggrieved members of the political party. Olagunsoye Oyinlola, a former governor of Osun State, is heading the committee.

The political party had banned Uche Secondus from parading himself as a member of the party. The party also stopped sacked Rivers Governor, Celestine Omehia; and former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Austin Opara, from attending meetings.

Online Parrot News had reported that a Federal High Court judge Inyang Ekwo barred the three top political party leaders from participating in any affairs of the PDP.

But they approached the appellate court and the three-man panel found merit in their appeal. The court upturned the decision of the court below and asked Uche Secondus and others to attend party meetings.
