DSS Takes Over the Protest Grounds in Abuja
Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have taken over the protest grounds in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on the third day of the nationwide protest against hardship and hunger, but which the people have primarily targeted at the president, Bola Tinubu.
The secret police had earlier warned against the protest saying that infiltrators would hijack it for their own sinister moves. According to eyewitnesses, six truckloads of operatives stormed the venue.
“Six vehicles loaded with DSS and soldiers have chased away the peaceful protesters. This is the brand of democracy Bola Tinubu has given to Nigerians.
“Everywhere is tense and the DSS operatives are loading their rifles and threatened to fire at anyone who continues the protest,” a witness told SaharaReporters.
