Democrats Officially Choose Harris as Candidate
The Democrats have officially chosen the United States Vice President Kamala Harris as the presidential candidate to face the Republican and populist candidate, Donald J. Trump for the November 5 presidential election.
Incumbent Joe Biden stepped down after too much pressure on him even from within his political party to drop his ambition for a second term. They said he was unfit to run again.
But political analysts have argued that only Biden can defeat Donald Trump, who narrowly escaped assassination at a rally in Pittsburgh.
Harris has got widespread support including from Barack and Michelle Obama, the Clintons and former Speaker of the Congress Nancy Pelosi.
Immediately Biden stepped down, he tipped his vice Harris for the ticket of the Democrats. There were no immediate opponents and she rode on the crest of support from the present and past presidents of the country.
