Manchester United captain, Harry Maguire, has broken silence and talked about the poor performance of his team against Newcastle United last night. The England giant talked amidst criticism for the team.
After more than fifteen days, Manchester United played the struggling Newcastle United. Edin Cavani had to come from the bench to rescue a point for Manchester United.
Harry Maguire argued that it would be difficult to come and play after sixteen days. He said that the long break didn’t help the team at all. He explained, “No sixteen-day break in the middle of a football season is going to help you.”
The skipper didn’t stop at that, he put the blame on the coronavirus disease. He said the training ground was shut because the players have either tested positive for the disease or they were recovering from the disease. Hence, he said the team couldn’t do well against Newcastle United.
Head coach Ralf Rangnick had to make some changes including bringing in Jadon Sancho and Cavani before a point could be made in the encounter.
Maguire exempted goalkeeper De Gea from the blame. He showered encomium on the goalie for making some good saves in the English Premier League encounter.
