Senator Ndume Starts Yet Another Trouble in the Senate
The senator representing Borno South senatorial district has drawn another battle line with the Senate just a week after his removal from office as the Chief Whip of the upper chamber of the National Assembly.
He was sacked partly due to his criticisms against President Bola Tinubu, which was unbecoming of a top echelon of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The Senate allocated another office for him, and he has rejected it citing seniority and ranking in the house. He has argued that the new office allocated to him didn’t not worth his rank as one of the most senior in the red Chamber.
The Borno South senator wrote a letter through his Chief Confidential Secretary, Shuaibu Gawu, saying “I am directed to inform you that, Distinguished Senator Mohammed All Ndume, has rejected the allocation of office number 3.10 by the Committee.
“This is because offices are traditionally allocated on a seniority basis.”
The letter added, “Sen Ndume is the most Senior Senator after Sen Ahmad Lawan and will only occupy an office on the fourth floor.”
