Nigerians Should Unite to Fight Corruption – Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu
The senator representing the people of Abia North Senatorial District, Orji Uzor Kalu, has urged all Nigerians to unite to fighting the main bane to national development, corruption.
He said that the social vice can’t be fought by just one person as it requires a collective effort of all and sundry. He said that the people need to prevent the negative effects of corruption on the nation as a whole.
Orji Uzor Kalu, who had also been tried of embezzling a sum of N5.6bn (five billion and six hundred million naira) made the call on Thursday.
He partly said: “The greatest problem you’re looking for is corruption. Corruption has eaten the fabric of Nigeria, whether in the private or public sector.
“The greatest problem Nigeria has today is corruption. If Nigeria or Nigerians do not march to kill corruption, corruption will kill Nigerians. So Nigeria better stand up for all of us to kill corruption.
“The greatest problem we have in and out, every leader, all the leaders are involved in corruption, people in the streets are corrupt also. Both the led and the people leading are corrupt. The private and public sector, except we leave corruption alone, corruption will not leave us.”
