North Is Truly Plotting Against Tinubu – Arewa Group
Speculations are rife that the northern forces are working round the clock to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the next general elections. The president himself has not declared his interest in running again for the job which he picked up only one year ago.
The plot to take him out of power has been confirmed by the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum. However, the form he condemned the movement of the northern elite most especially Mr. Rabiu Kwakwanso, the presidential candidate of the NNPP and Nasir El-Rufai, who is understandably angry with Tinubu.
Yerima Shettima, the president general of the Arewa forum denounced the plot. He agreed that the former Kaduna State governor El-Rufai has rights to relate and visit anyone he wants to. But the current trips of the politician have political undertones.
“Well, El-Rufai has the fundamental right to relate and visit whoever he chooses. However, the visits which are being embarked upon by the opposition party members certainly have political undertones.”
The Arewa Group leader also discussed how El-Rufai visited the Social Democratic Party (SDP). It’s not yet clear if the former president, who is being probed by the Kaduna State House of Assembly, has defected from the All Progressives Congress to the SDP.
“Recall that El-Rufai also visited the Social Democratic Party (SDP) sometime ago, so the recent visits to former President Muhammadu Buhari and lately to the 2023 Presidential candidate of the NNPP, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso certainly has political motives apparently to possibly unseat the incumbent president. But whether such visits and perhaps many more to come will yield political results, only time will tell,” he said.
