Who are Sabotaging Dangote Refinery’s Efforts?

Although it’s owned by a private company whose aim is to make profits, yet a functional local refinery would go a long way to ease some pains of the people of the country. To a large extent, the long queues at the filling stations may stop, and the pump price may drop drastically as well.

Right now Nigeria imports the refined products from the crude oil. It’s one of the saddening things in the country that despite the abundance of crude oil, the country still relies on importation of liqufied gas, petrol, kerosene, etc for consumption.

When Dangote Refinery announced its plan to produce oil, there were glimmers of hope across the country. But despair, uncertainties and pessimism have taken over the scene. Who are frustrating Dangote Refinery?

The company in a statement announced that the international oil companies are working assiduously against its interest at least to the extent that the local company has to import crude oil.

Supplying Dangote Refinery with crue oil should be automatic. The federal government through the NNPC Limited had no choice but to just give the maximum support that the company needs to thrive. Its full operation would eve help the President Bola Tinubu’s government towards achieving its goals of lifting millions of people from poverty.

On Wednesday, there was a report of fire incident at the company in Lagos. The company later confirmed that a section was in crisis after it had put out the Inferno.

In a statement signed by Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communication officers of Dangote Industries Limited, the fire was “swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP)”.
