EFCC Allegedly Dehumanizes Party Goers In Akure
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have been accused of dehumanizing party goers in Akure, the Ondo State capital on Saturday.
The anti corruption agency has always faced allegations of high handedness while carrying out operations. The agency constantly denies the allegations.
The operatives conducted a raid on two nightclubs in the city and arrested more than 120 persons. They also seized all sorts of items including laptops, phones and cars.
A witness explained the incident saying, “They entered the nightclubs and lounges, tear-gassing people, beating them up and arresting them. They don’t care who you are, many people, including security personnel were injured as they shot tear gas canisters inside one of the clubs.
“They (EFCC) also went away with a groom and his friends at a club, he was there for his bash eve, so sad as they profiled everyone as Internet frauds.”
