Two Die As Police & Hoodlums Clash in Lagos
The Lagos State Police Command has been able to stem the surprise attack on its station at Iyana Ipaja area of the state.
While enforcing the ban on the use of commercial motorcycles in some parts of the state, hoodlums numbering hundreds storm the station to attack the officers on duty.
According to the statement released by the public Relations Officer of the command, Benjamin Hundeyin, the officers started in the morning to work on the Lagos State Government’s ban on motorcycles.
The attackers then came in their hundreds with all sorts of dangerous weapons to cause havoc at the Ipaja Station. The officers on duty were able to stand their ground firmly till reinforcement came from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS).
The command added that over two hundred motorcycles were impounded and that it was able to retrieve one locally made firearm.
