Israel Decides To Permanently Close Al Jazeera
The administration of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to permanently close down Qatari Al Jazeera and end the operation of the news media within Israel.
The cabinet voted unanimously on Sunday to shut down Al Jazeera, which had been temporarily closed down earlier. The government accused the media, which is also the most popular in the Middle East of bias in its reportage of the Gaza war.
Several other international media teams have stopped talking about the Palestinians who are under an Israeli siege and constant raid in the occupied West Bank.
Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister announced the decision of his government in Hebrew in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
He said, “The government headed by me unanimously decided: the incitement channel Al Jazeera will be closed in Israel.”
Shlomo Karhi, the communication minister also took to his X account to say that he had immediately signed an order against the media company. He ordered that the broadcasting instruments of the company be seized.
They included editing and routing equipment, cameras, microphones, servers and laptops along with wireless transmission.
