Palestine: American Students Protest Against Israel

More university students in the United States have come out to stage an encampment on their university campuses to support the course of Palestine and its people who are at the mercy of Israel.

The Gaza war is entering its 7th month and it doesn’t look it’s going to end anytime soon. Israel started its retaliation shortly after the Palestinan Hamas fighters stormed the southern part of Israel and killed more than 1,000 and took more than 200 as hostages, Online Parrot News reported.

Israel besieged the already impoverished Gaza Strip, pounded the areas and close to 40,000 Palestinans, mostly civilians have lost their lives while civilian facilities including schools, hospitals and refuge camps have been destroyed beyond repair by the Israeli vicious forces.

The American students carry placards with various inscriptions including ones asking Washington to stop funding genocide and concentrate on doing more on education and job creation.

US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken said that the students have rights to protest and stage encampment, but Texas governor has condemned them not for supporting Palestine though. Police have arrested more than 500 while stopping the protest from becoming violent.

The students in Columbia University, New York universities and those in Philadelphia are asking the United States to dissociate itself from Israel over Palestine. They also demand their school authorities stop investment in Israel.
