United States Finally Bans Chinese TikTok

United States Finally Bans TikTok

The United States of America has finally banned popular social media platform, TikTok. The President of the USA Joe Biden has also signed the bill into law effectively putting an end to the Chinese company in America.

USA has also given an option to the owners of the fast rising media platform, ByteDance to sell the platform to American companies.

National Security Adviser, Jake Sullivan said, “Do we want TikTok, as a platform, to be owned by an American company or owned by China? Do we want the data from TikTok – children’s data, adults’ data – to be going, to be staying here in America or going to China?”

United States lawmakers and the White House have expressed concerns about TikTok that it steals Americans’ data for China. ByteDance denies this and the Chinese government has warned Biden’s USA against cracking down on its companies.

TikTok said it would drag Biden to court over the development.
