Super Eagles Disappoint Nigerian Football Lovers
Nigerian football lovers and supporters of Nigeria’s Super Eagles have expressed their disappoinment in the dismal performance of the country’s national team in the opening match against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday.
The encounter ended in one goal apiece and the Super Eagles, one of the most successful sides in the continental competition, had to even come from behind to grab a point in the game.
Football lovers trooped out to watch the game in which the current African Best Player Victor Osimhen played. He gave the Nigeria the only goal the Nigerian team scored.
The side became depleted following a number of injuries in the squad, but Nigerians felt that Equatorial Guinea shouldn’t be a threat to the 3 time AFCON winners.
Nigeria play against hosts Ivory Coast on 18 January. The Elephants of Cote D’Ivoire won the opening game against Guinea Bissau on Saturday. That makes the host nation to retain top position of the Group A.
