Rivers Governor Fubara Visits Tinubu Again
For yet another time, Rivers State Governor Simi Fubara is currently meeting President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa. The president intervened in the Rivers State political crisis when it reached the climax.
Fubara was at the Villa late last year after the Rivers State House of Assembly under a loyalist of Nyesom Wike began a move to impeach the governor.
Tinubu was able to broker peace and the matter appeared to have died down. However, less than a month after the meeting with the president, Fubara is back in the villa.
Mr. Nyesom Wike, who is the Federal Capital Territory minister, has claimed that he’s no regret for making Fubara the state governor. He nevertheless said that the real person in charge of the state would be known soon.
The speaker of the house, a loyalist of the governor, resigned from both the leadership of the house and his seat as a representative of his constituency. Fubara immediately made him the Chief of Staff.
