Israel forces pound Gaza more killing and destroying properties
Israeli forces have stepped up its fight against the Islamist Hamas, a group that resists occupation of Palestinian land. After the truce between the two sides ended and failed to renew, Hamas resumed launching rockets into Israel while the forces also coordinate airstrikes on Gaza.
Crisis started when the Hamas armed wing launched a multi-pronged fight into southern Israel. The fighters killed at least 1,200 mostly women and children and took with them more than 200 hostages.
The forces began its own attacks including rare ground invasion of Gaza. It has killed close to 16,000 people according to the Gaza health ministry.
But Qatar along with Egypt and the United States of America was able to broker a deal, a truce or ceasefire between the two of them. Hostages and prisoners were released by Hamas and Israel respectively.
The deal ended on Friday and the hostilities between them resumed. Israel accused Hamas of breaching the agreement, hence the IDF began to pound Gaza targeting both militants’ areas and civilians buildings. It says Hamas uses civilians as shields.
At least 200 people have so far been killed since hostilities resumed on Friday.
