Senate passes Tinubu’s N27tn for second reading
Godswill Akpabio’s Senate has passed President Bola Tinubu’s N27tn 2024 budget for second reading.
The Renewed Hope budget was submitted by the president on Wednesday and he told the lawmakers that he wanted an accelerated passage of the appropriation bill.
The Senate President Akpabio told him that he should discourage the ministers and heads of agencies to desist from travelling outside Nigeria while the lawmakers are reviewing the bill.
Senators took turns to applaud Tinubu for “having good intentions for the country”.
Godswill Akpabio’s deputy Jibrin Barau, who led the plenary referred the budget to the Committee on appropriation headed by Solomon Adeola.
