Calm returns to Ondo State Government as Deputy Governor Aiyedatiwa heads meeting
Normalcy and calm seem to have returned to the Ondo State political affairs. The embattled deputy governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has returned to the state and he headed the State Executive Council meeting today.
There were speculations yesterday that the speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly asked the deputy governor to tender his letter of resignation. The initial plot was to remove him from the office after his principal Rotimi Akeredolu returned from Germany.
Aiyedatiwa stood vehemently and outsmarted the lawmakers by approaching the court. As the matters heated up with calls for resignation of Akeredolu, who has become incapacitated, the president, Bola Tinubu intervened and resolved the matters “amicably”.
After the meeting with the president, rumours spread that the lawmakers would still force the deputy governor to resign. On Thursday, he was at the secretariat, Akure presiding over the meeting of the executive.
