Boko Haram strikes Borno again, beheads 13 people
No fewer than 13 persons have been beheaded by the Islamic insurgents, Boko Haram in northeast Borno state. The latest Boko Haram attack came as Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni’s convoy came under attack.
The convoy was going from Maiduguri to Damaturu the headquarters of Borno and Yobe State respectively. A police officer was killed while six others were seriously injured by the terrorists.
The beheading took place at Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State. A vigilante source that witnessed the incident said that it occured at Bale village in the local government area at 5pm on Monday (yesterday).
The witness talked to Daily Trust, “Yes, six persons were recovered from the scene yesterday’s (Monday) evening and they were dismembered. They were found in a pool of blood because all parts of their bodies were cut into pieces.
“We have buried them this evening according to the Islamic rites. Although five people were missing, we don’t know if they escaped or were abducted,” a vigilante source said.
