Tinubu continues from where Buhari stopped, leading Nigerians to graves – Ex Jigawa Governor Lamido

An ex governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido has berated President Bola Tinubu and his administration. The chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party said that Tinubu is continuing with the style of ex president Muhammadu Buhari and leading Nigerians to their grave.

Millions of Nigerians were impoverished under the administration of Muhammadu Buhari, which lasted 8 years. A minister of Tinubu, Mr. Wale Edun confirmed that Tinubu inherited a dead economy. Anambra State governor Charles Soludo has corroborated the assertion.

But the ex Jigawa State governor argued that Tinubu is governing just like his predecessor. Lamido, who served as foreign affairs minister under Olusegun Obasanjo, granted an interview with the Daily Trust.

He said that Tinubu contested for the seat of the president to continue the bad leadership structure.

Lamido explained, “Tinubu came and said he will continue from where Buhari stopped, so the next destination is our grave because the journey has started with a trailer load of poverty, hunger, insecurity, hate, despondency, frustration, pain, agony, and the destination is the grave.

“When he said he will continue from where Buhari stopped, what has he done? When you say you want to continue from where Buhari stopped, where do you start from? From insecurity, poverty or hunger? Tinubu said he will continue from where Buhari stopped, so there is no distinction.”

Fine. Are they reflecting the people’s wishes? If they are not, then how were they elected? How would they ignore the Nigerian environment, in terms of our standing and status, to do that kind of appropriation for the president?

“That is why there’s a need for this kind of debate. Is the Western type of democracy working in Nigeria or not? Why is it not working?

“Talking about democracy in Africa, I saw the motorcade of the president of Kenya, Ruto. I saw 55 jeeps, with 45 riders on motorbikes following him. I saw the clip on TikTok, maybe it was manipulated, I don’t know.”
