Israel uncovers Hamas weapons in Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza
Israel has said that it found weapons in Al Shifa Hospital in the blockaded Gaza Strip on Wednesday.
The Israel Defence Force has intensified its operations in the Hamas territory with the aim of rooting out the group, which rules the enclave.
Israel started its retaliation against Hamas after the deadly 7 October attack on southern Israel, which the Palestinian fighters planned and executed.
Arab leaders and the United Nations have condemned Israel’s target of civilian facilities including hospitals in Gaza during its attacks on Hamas. Tel Aviv argued that the fighters use the hospitals as depot for its weapons and to hide the thousands of tunnels.
IDF posted some exclusive videos on its Facebook page which show the basement of several hospitals in Gaza that Hamas used to store weapons and to plan attacks on Israel.
Military spokesman Lieutenant Colonel, without mentioning the types of weapons found in the largest Gazan hospital told the CNN details about operations in the facility.
He said, “We understand that there’s a substantial Hamas infrastructure in the area, in the vicinity of the hospital. Potentially under the hospital, and it’s something we’re working on. It’ll take us time. This war is a complex war,” Hecht said.
Hecht said the Israelis forces went into a specific area inside the hospital, adding that “There wasn’t an all-out attack.”
