Kogi 2023: PDP’s candidate Melaye calls for cancellation of election
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the ongoing election in Kogi State, Dino Melaye has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to cancel elections.
The embittered candidate, who has so far refused to cast his vote at Ayetoro-Gbede in the state asked the electoral commission to cancel elections in five of the 21 local government areas of the state.
Online Parrot News had reported earlier that the electoral commission, INEC, confirmed that its officials took pre-recorded results to some polling units. Hence, Dino Melaye is now calling for cancellation of the results in the areas.
He posted on his verified X account on Saturday as results started trickling in from polling units.
Melaye said, Posting via his official X account, Melaye said, “INEC must cancel the election in the 5 local governments of Kogi-Central. The election in Okene, Okehi, Ajaoukuta, Adavi, and Ogori/Mangogo is a scam coordinated from the highest level of INEC.”
Our correspondent has earlier reported that operatives of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and Department of State Service visited the polling unit of Dino Melaye at Iluafon quarters, Aiyetoro 1, Ijumu Local Government Area of the state.
