A member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Bernard Mgbar Baridamue, has launched bicycles in his constituency with a view of combating insecurity.
He is the Chairman of the House Committee on Emergency Relief/Special Duties even though he’s a first timer in the house. He represents Tai state constituency in the chamber.
The lawmaker took some new bicycles to the Ward 9 of the Tai local government area of the state so as to curb the high spate of insecurity in Bunu-Tai Town.
There have been reactions from Nigerians about the idea of using bicycles to fight the menace of insecurity in the area. Some Nigerians have criticised the lawmaker for being backward in the 21st century.
PM News quoted one Chamberline Kinikanwo as saying, “This is unacceptable in this 21st century, because it seems we are still living in the 18th century after collecting huge sum of money for Constituency Projects.
“Our politicians have no shame. This is a very big disgrace.”
