US President Biden blames Hamas for explosion in Palestinian hospital as he lands in Israel
President of the United States (POTUS) Joe Biden has blamed Hamas for the explosion that occurred at a hospital in Gaza. Palestinians have pointed at Israeli military as the perpetrator of the attack on the hospital, where hundreds of Palestinians are receiving treatment.
The United States President is in Israel to partly identify with the Jews and find means to avoid escalation in the restive Middle East region.
Biden talked to the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is facing heavy criticism at home from not doing enough to nip the crisis in the bud. The visitor told his guest that based on what he has seen, the other side (Palestinian Hamas) was responsible for the explosion.
Biden said, “I was deeply saddened and outraged by the explosion at the hospital in Gaza yesterday. And based on what I’ve seen, it appears as though it was done by the other team, not you,” Biden said as he opened a meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Tel Aviv.”
The American president further declared that the islamists, Hamas, do not represent all the Palestinian people and that the group is responsible for the suffering of the Palestinians.
He told Benjamin Netanyahu, “We have to bear in mind that Hamas does not represent all the Palestinian people and has brought them only suffering,”
He said he was encouraging Netanyahu to ensure “life-saving capacity to help the Palestinians who are innocent and caught in the middle of this.”
