Ogun Governor Abiodun under fire for giving 1 bag of rice to 147 households

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has been slammed by the leader of a Community Development Area for giving the area just one bag of rice.

Dapo Abiodun came under fire of the Shokeye area said that the area contained 147 households with families and tenants. He lamented that he didn’t know how to go about the distribution of the food item to the people.

The leader, who talked in a video that has now gone viral, told the state governor that they were not beggars or hungry for his palliative.

He said, “I was just at home when they brought this for me as palliative for the whole of Shokeye Estate. In this estate, we have 147 houses with families and tenants.

“I’m confused now; I don’t know how to share this with 147 households in Shokeye Estate.

“I’m talking to Dapo Abiodun now; if you people know that you cannot do something, then don’t do it.

“We are not hungry; we are not beggars. So we don’t need your rice as palliative. This is not even up to one-eight of a bag of rice.

“We don’t need this rice; if you want to give us palliatives, don’t insult us. This is an insult. Shokeye Estate refuses to be insulted.”

The federal government under President Bola Tinubu has released at least 3,000 bags of rice to each state to distribute to the vulnerable Nigerians as part of the efforts to cushion the effects of the subsidy removal.
