NLC: no meeting or agreement with Tinubu’s government

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has said that the federal government under Bola Tinubu has failed to negotiate with the union. The labour union has called for an indefinite strike starting from 3 October.

The NLC along with its sister union Trade Union Congress has said that the government has totally failed to listen to its demands.

The NLC president Joe Ajaero said that the union has no choice but to embark on the indefinite strike. The congress also revealed that there is no planned meeting with the government.

Joe Ajaero-led NLC told newsmen that the matter is far beyond the purview of the ministry of labour and productivity. The congress released a statement through its media head.

It said, “While we do not intend to demean or minimise the office of the Minister of Labour and Employment, this matter is beyond the ministry. This should have been obvious to them during our most recent meeting.”
