A stray bullet has reportedly killed an undergraduate of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, the Sahara Reporters reports.
Uche Joevita Chigozirim, who was a student of the faculty of health sciences received the stray bullet on Thursday at the Miracle Junction of the state capital.
Dickson Anayochi, a witness and resident of the area, confirmed the accidental discharge. He narrated that the 100L student of the university was shot by suspected cultists who terrorise the area.
He told reporters, “This girl, a 100 level student of the faculty of Health Science was killed yesterday (Thursday) evening by stray bullet shot by suspected cultists at the popular Miracle Junction. Her name is Uche Joevita Chigozirim.
“Please help us and let the world know the insecurity challenges we are facing in the UNIZIK environment and the state government is not doing anything to improve the situation.
“Please let the Inspector General of Police hear this and help us with a checkpoint around the Ifite area of UNIZIK because we are tired of complaining to the state government. It’s now a culture. We are almost used to it. It is really sad”.
