Obaseki attacks Wike, says FCT minister will run for 2027 presidency
Mr. Nyesom Wike allied with the candidate of the opposition party, APC, Bola Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election. He refused to work for the candidate of his party, the People’s Democratic Party due to unresolved issues.
But Mr. Pedro Obaseki, an ally of the ex vice president Atiku Abubakar, believed that the ex Rivers State governor is working rigorously for his own ambition of becoming the president of the country.
Pedro, who was the Director of Planning and Strategy for the party in the election, claimed that Wike wants to remove all hinderances ahead of the next election.
Wike is currently serving as a minister under Bola Tinubu, whom he helped to win Rivers State in the election.
The PDP’s stalwart said, “It is not hidden that the only thing Wike is interested in is becoming the President of our country, and anything that seems to stand wittingly or otherwise in his achieving that quest will be flushed away and that is what he has been doing.”
Mr. Obaseki didn’t stop at that. He argued that Wike is “nobody” and what he has achieved in politics was due to the electoate in Rivers State.
He berated the FCT minister, “Who is Wike? He is a nobody. He rode on the back of the electorate of Rivers State to national prominence and betrayed everybody along the way. From being a Local Government chairman, a Minister of State, became Governor of Rivers State and now minister of the FCT.”
