Ex Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has appeared on the list of All Progressives Congress campaign organisation for Bayelsa State.
The ruling party has released names of 122 party chieftains and leaders to claim the south south state for the APC. Mr. Wike, a staunch loyalist of the opposition party, accepted the nomination of president Bola Tinubu as the FCT minister.
Wike snubbed the PDP’s presidential candidate Alhaji Abubakar Atiku. He worked tirelessly for Bola Tinubu in the election, and that earned him a slot in the cabinet.
Nevertheless, the former governor has not decamped (officially) from the PDP. His nomination into the campaign organisation of the APC may eventually put to rest the debate on whether he has left the PDP or not.
Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya is the chairman of the campaign council of the APC. Other top names in the list are Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Secretary to the Government of Federation George Akume and minister of defence Badaru Abubakar.
