A number of ministers in Tinubu’s cabinet are liabilities: Sani
A former Senator from Kaduna State, Shehu Sani has described some of the ministers of Bola Tinubu as liabilities. The outspoken politician granted an interview to the Punch Newspaper and he opinionated on the list of the ministers.
The self-styled activist commended the president on the choice of some people who made it to Bola Tinubu’s Cabinet. He talked about the health minister Pate and called him a round peg in a round hole.
He condemned the choice of some former governors who looted and misgoverned their states into the current administration. Sani said that they had nothing to show for their tenures in their respective states.
Yet they made it to the Tinubu’s cabinet as ministers representing their states. The ex member of the Senate said he would have expected to see experts and professionals in the administration. He specifically mentioned the name of Mr. Abubakar Badaru, an ex governor of Jigawa State. Bola Tinubu appointed him as minister of defence.
Bola Tinubu has come under severe criticism for appointing politicians who have corruption cases or struggle for popularity at their states. Mr. Bello Matawalle, whose Zamfara State suffered from banditry and kidnapping made it to the cabinet. He lost his reelection bid in March, 2023.
Mr. Solomon Lalung, Adegboyega Oyetola, Adebayo Adelabu, lost gubernatorial elections at their states. But the president wouldn’t hesitate to appoint them.
