A former governor of Arkansas, Asa Hutchinson has thrown his hat into the ring for the seat of the President of the United States (POTUS).

Mr. Hutchinson was governor of the southern state from 2015 till earlier this year. He was also a one time member of the House of Representatives (the Congress).

He seeks the ticket of the Republican to face incumbent Joe Biden, who will also seek another term in office on the platform of the Democrat.

The ex governor, who is now challenging Mr. Donald Trump, believes that the ex president should step aside considering his indictment in Manhattan, New York.

Mr. Hutchinson, a republican, said that it’s a sad day for the United States of America. He revealed, “I think it’s a sad day for America that we have a former president that’s indicted.”

The presidential hopeful argued that Mr. Trump ought to withdraw from the race by stepping aside. He however added, “Well, he should, but at the same time, we know he’s not.”

Mr. Trump had earlier last week declared his intent to return to the White House after his defeat by the Democrat Joe Biden. He bullied his would be opponents including the Florida governor Ron DeSantis.

The Manhattan attorney general has indicted the ex president for the hush payment made to a pornstar Stormy Daniels in 2016. The payment was made to silence her.

While talking more about his ambition, Hutchinson said, “I have made a decision, and my decision is I’m going to run for president of the United States,”

The former governor said he wouldn’t shrink his bid for the former president Donald Trump, who is still popular among the republicans despite the indictment.

The aspirant, Hutchinson declared, “I’m convinced that people want leaders that appeal to the best of America, and not simply appeal to our worst instincts.”
