Arsenal wins 9th London derby as title race intensifies
Arsenal under Mikel Arteta has won nine derbies as he leads the London club to its English Premier League title. The gunners beat Crystal Palace in a five-goal thriller.
Arsenal have now beaten Crystal Palace twice this season. They started the season with a two-nil victory over the then host. That opener has hither given the gunners high morale to pursue the league.
The EPL leaders were at home in the afternoon when Crystal Palace, a London team, visited. The hosts had an emphatic victory over Palace, who have just sacked their coach, Patrick Vieira.
North London arch rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, have suffered defeat twice this season. They had met the league leaders, Arsenal, twice and recorded losses in the two occasions. The first leg held at the Emirate Stadium, the then hosts scored three times with the hosts returning just one.
The second leg at the new Tottenham Stadium was much easier for the league leaders. Arsenal’s coach recorded another deserved victory in that game which further showed how determined the gunners are.
Fulham have also fallen twice for Arsenal. The newly promoted team couldn’t upset the North London side in the English Premier League.
Mikel Arteta’s men have won the two legs by scoring 5 goals and conceding just one in the first leg of the competition.

The English Premier League leaders have beaten West Ham, Brentford and the blues once with the second leg at hand. The one unreturned goal was enough to cruise past Chelsea while Brentford conceded 3 unreturned goals as well.
