At 76 Pete Edochie is sad
Veteran Nollywood star, Pete Edochie has expressed his sadness as he clocked 76. The actor made this known as he celebrates his birthday anniversary today.
He gave reasons for his sadness even though he acknowledged the fact that he ought to be grateful for being alive and for what God has done for him.
He revealed, “I’m 76 today and thank God who he has brought me thus far. I should be happy today but I’m not because I can’t go to the bank to withdraw money which belongs to me and was told it’s for my own good.”
The Central Bank of Nigeria has limited amounts an individual can withdraw per day and per week. The bank has introduced the much taunted cashless policy. Likewise there is scarcity of new naira notes in the country.
Edochie didn’t provide what he has passed through while attempting to withdraw money from his bank account. But obviously, Nigerians,just like the veteran actor, are passing through a lot.
Mr. Edochie continued, I can’t go to the filling station and buy fuel for my car, again must be for my own good”.
Nigerians have formed seemingly endless queues at the filling stations to get the non-existent fuel. It has been tough for the citizens to buy the commodity which seriously aids economy of the country.
Edochie also lamented about poor and erratic power supply in the country. He said that electricity had been epileptic.
